Aloe Vera - Other Names

Over the years, the aloe plant has picked up a number of names. While some are certainly inaccurate in their descriptions, it remains interesting to see what other names have been given to the plant: scientific, foreign, and English.

Additionally, there are hundreds of aloe species, only several of which have actually been listed on this page. Note that not all aloe species are used for medicinal purposes, nor are all purported to have the same health benefits as aloe vera.
